Obituary of Lynn Jeannette Price

Lynn Jeanette Latham was born February 14, 1953, in Oceanside California, where her father, Keith Latham was stationed in the U.S. Marine Corp. Her love of the ocean perhaps came from long, sunny days spent with her mom, Bonnie Barr Latham, in California. The family moved back to Laurel, Montana, where Lynn spent her childhood and early adulthood, and where she welcomed two sisters to the family, Lisa Latham (Kimmet), and Lori Latham.

 

Lynn married Ken Price in March of 1978. Together, they embarked on a lifelong journey as a United States Air Force family that took them to Texas, North Dakota, Maryland, Crete, Illinois, and finally to their forever home in Meridian, Idaho. During their USAF adventure, Lynn was the consummate AF Spouse, supporting Ken’s career and pursuing her own interests.  At nearly every assignment, Lynn was the choir director at the base chapels, leaving her legacy of music across the Air Force

 

Lynn was a musician, in every sense of the word. She loved music, and turned that passion into a career, teaching music in Maryland, Illinois, and Idaho. Countless students were the recipients of her unwavering determination to make music lovers out of each and every child she taught.

 

Lynn’s life changed immeasurably when she and Ken had their two children, Jenny Kristine Price (Sarault) and Kelsey Michael Price. Lynn was the quintessential mother and homemaker, never missing out on any activity or detail of her children’s lives. Living on the island of Crete for several years while the children were young became a fun adventure with Lynn at the helm, leading the family in trying new cuisine, learning the culture, and traveling throughout the region.

 

Besides music, Lynn’s greatest loves were her three grandchildren, Anderson and Alice Sarault, and Blue Price. Her heart and soul were poured into helping with her grandchildren. She was constantly doing crafts with them, reading to them, and of course, singing to them.

 

Lynn’s talents were many. In her younger years she was an avid snow skier and water skier; she was an excellent cook and an exceptional baker; a crafter of all kinds, and an incredible card-maker. She loved stamping and creating cards that were objects of beauty. Everyone in her circle probably has lots of the exquisite cards she made.

 

Lynn had a multitude of friends and extended family that she loved spending time with. Her Boise Teacher friends were her rock, especially this last year. She had childhood “Laurel” friends that she cherished and stayed in close contact with, no matter where she was. They also brought her much comfort these last few months.

 

Lynn’s best friend, her confidante, adventure and travel partner and soul mate, her husband of 42 years, Ken, was by her side throughout her life journey, and was comforting and nursing her every hour of every day. His unwavering dedication soothed her soul as she fought her awful disease. 

 

Besides her husband, Lynn is survived by her children Jenny (Isaiah) Sarault, and Kelsey Price, her grandchildren Anderson and Alice Sarault and Blue Price, her mother Bonnie Latham, father Keith Latham(Bev), mother-in-law Jeanine Price, sisters Lisa Kimmet (Dale) and Lori Latham, sister-in-law Patti Jo Brewster (Wes), and numerous much-loved cousins and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Ora and Russell Barr, paternal grandparents Violet Proffer (Nile) and Otis “Jerry” Latham, father-in-law Forrest “Pat” Price, and brothers-in-law Rod Price and Dan Price.

 

A family memorial will be held Monday at Lynn’s church, where she shared her beautiful voice in the choir, Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise. The service will be live-streamed for her extended family and many friends. A celebration of life will be held at a friend’s home in Boise following the service. All of Lynn’s friends are invited to the celebration of life.
