I appreciate the fact that he was generous in his knowledge and accepting within his heart.

First of, my deepest sympathies go out to everyone who was touched by knowing Travis. I was Travis's brother-in-law, and my wife an I were fortunate enough to not only attend the wedding, but to have Travis stay with us for a week while Samantha and Travis were in California.
The first thing that struct me about Travis, was just how intelligent he was. It seemed that he knew a lot about everything, and could go into such detail with you about almost any subject. Travis had this larger than life personality, and was never afraid to be direct with you.
I remember all of us going out to dinner at Duca di Beppo, and having Travis ask to speak with the Chef. When the Chef came out, Travis began to dissect the menu with the Chef. Making sure to find out everything that was going into the food to ensure no soy would contaminate it. As Travis grilled him on all the oils, and types of beans, the Chef seemed to be in a dizzy, not knowing exactly all the ingredients he was using in the food. He had to go back and check two times, to be 100% sure of what ingredients he was using before finally finding a dish that was perfect.
That's the thing about Travis, he was never rude, but patient, he would not talk down to you, but instead listen attentively, as if every word that would come out of his mouth was calculated before hand. I know both my wife and I will miss him terribly, as I am sure many of you will as well.
May happiness find you wherever you are brother.

Thoughts and prayers to Travis' family. I worked with Travis to arrange his accommodations at Boise State. It was always a treat to chat with him, but especially the last few times we met before he graduated. He was excited to be teaching a class, and overjoyed at being newly married.
