Obituary of Elyse Maree Prow
Elyse Maree Prow was born to ecstatic parents on January 24, 2000. She grew up with laughter, love, and a generosity of spirit with everyone she met.
Elyse graduated from Rocky Mountain High School (Meridian Idaho) in 2018. While in high school she loved being a part of the acting program (Solid Rock), enjoyed photography, taking pictures for both family and friends and also danced all four years as a Diamond Dancer where she was team captain her senior year. She made lifelong friends through her activities and touched many lives with her silly and kind spirit.
Elyse attended Idaho State University where she majored in elementary education and was part of the honors program. She was filled with joy from her experiences where she was known as “Miss Elyse” by students in the classroom and was excited to follow in her mom’s footsteps as a teacher.
Her magnetic personality, warmth of spirit, and kindness was contagious to everyone she met. She would go out of her way to make anyone feel special. “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world”—Anne Frank
Elyse’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her passing. Elyse left her earthly body on January 7, 2021 at the age of 20 after a valiant battle with t-cell lymphoma. She was surrounded by her mother, father and sister. They will continue to honor her legacy by encouraging kindness, generosity, and love.
She is survived by her mother, Alex; father, Monty; sister, Abby; mini-labradoodle, Bumi; grandparents, great grandparents and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Catherine Grant; grandfather, Michael Grant, and cousin, Cierra Grant.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love donations to go to “Be The Match Foundation” where they assist others in the process of bone marrow transplantation. Elyse was always encouraging others to sign up to be donor.
On Monday, January 18th services will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd, Meridian. The rosary will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the celebration of the funeral mass at 11:00. Rev. Len MacMillian will officiate.
