We are so sorry and sad to hear of Mr. McDevitt's passing. Mr. McDevitt was one of the top Jurists to ever come out of the State of Idaho in all of Idaho's history. He was a great friend and adviser to our family and was a great American Patriot. We so appreciated his common sense, great knowledge and wisdom. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, When asked about his family, he always spoke with reverence and love about his wife and how proud he was of his children. Rest in peace, Mr. McDevitt. We will miss seeing you and our conversations with you.

When my brother, Ken, convinced his new partners, Charles, Raymond and Jay, that hiring his teenage sister would be of some value to their law firm, we all knew that there might be doubts about this decision.
But, not Chuck. From the start, he welcomed me. Over forty years later, I still hear his rich voice calling down the hall, “Hey, Karl, how are you doing today?” He encouraged me to feel an important part of the growing family that was GMP&W in the early days. Even the occasional office mischief was greeted with a sparkle in Charles’ eyes. During a time before office computers, we both felt a great accomplishment when I decoded Chas’ timecard script well enough to timely prepare the monthly billing. It was often debated whether it was Ken or him who had the worse handwriting. Inevitably, the point was made that the person possessing the greatest intelligence got a pass on handwriting. I cherish these memories.
Charles was an extremely intelligent, caring, funny and well-loved man. It is an honor to have known him.
Our sincere condolences to his family. Rest In Peace, Chuck.
Aloha,
Karla (Pursley) Rosenberg & Family

I think one of the biggest regrets of my life is not telling Justice McDevitt (he will always be Justice McDevitt to me) how much he taught me in the 2 years I clerked for him. I don't think a day goes by I don't think of him or think of something he said or taught me. I have always felt honored that he chose me to clerk for him.
My condolences. He will be missed. Not just by family, but by many.
My prayers are with you.
