Ruth Boyd

Obituary of Ruth Boyd

Ruth Martin Boyd passed away October 3, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19, and yes, she was fully vaccinated.

She was born in New Leipzig, North Dakota.  She and her twin brother, Roland, were the youngest and only living siblings of a large family of 12 till her passing.

She worked long and hard hours to earn enough money to go to college.  She left home and headed to Nampa, Idaho to finish high school and pursue her dream of being a nurse.  In 1970, she got her R.N. degree, a dream fulfilled.

In 1974, she married Art Boyd and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage till his passing in 2018.  During that time together they spent 25 years with RVICS, a voluntary group for Christ services, which was headquartered in Smithville, Texas.  In 2013, they moved back to Boise to be near family.

Ruth was gifted at sewing, embroidery, cooking, and baking.  She especially enjoyed sharing her goods with others.  She also enjoyed being a rock hound with Art.

Ruth is survived by her twin brother, Roland (Judy); 2 step-daughters: Beverly (Charles) Hahn and Doreen Nichols; 2 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous Martin relatives.

There will be no service.  She will be interred with Art in the Columbarium Wall at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.  “She won’t have to be in isolation anymore in Heaven!”

Thanks to Keystone Hospice for making her last few days comfortable.  A special thanks to the staff at Overland Court Assisted Living for the loving care given to her these past 4 years.  Much love and God bless.
