Jean Hilliard

Obituary of Jean Hilliard

Wandella Jean Hilliard age 82 died on December 17, 2021, in Boise, Idaho.
Wandella Jean Hilliard but her preferred name was Jean, was born in Vale, Oregon, on May 13, 1939, to Clarence and Lois Rule. She had two sisters and one brother that all preceded her in death. She was the last survivor within her family. She married Harold Hilliard the love of her life November 15, 1958. Harold and Jean moved to Payette, Idaho and began their life together. They preferred to live in a country environment so they moved to Ontario, Oregon.  They lived in Ontario for just one year, before before moving to Boise, Idaho because of employment changes.  Jean enjoyed living the rest of her life in Boise.
Jean was a loving spirit. Our mom became a best friend to everyone that she met.  She was a great listener, would always make time for others, and very sympathetic to everyone’s needs.  Our mom loved being around family and friends.  She excelled in organizing family gatherings, creating memorable holidays, and was always an attentive individual.
She was a fantastic cook, and her baked goods were delightful.  Every year family would look forward to her scrumptious cinnamon rolls and her tasty pies during gatherings and holidays.
Jean enjoyed staying active and spending time with family, but she also enjoyed spending time with many of her friends.  She was instrumental in many of the groups or organizations that she attended. She started a group called the Jumperets in Payette, Idaho. The Jumperets  was a group that did trick jump roping and baton twirling.  She also was involved in Girl Scouts and became the neighborhood chairman and shared the role of scout leader with Harold in Boy Scouts.  After Boy Scouts Jean was involved with the Good Sam’s Club and Capital Gypsies.  Jean shared the role with Harold in the Good Sams Club as game coordinator and made many new acquaintances, which turned into lifetime friends. Throughout her involvement of these groups, she enjoyed every minute of the adventure and knew how to have a good time.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She knew how to make any environment fun for everyone and make everyone feel welcomed.  Our mom loved life and always lived it to the fullest.  We all loved her so much and she will be greatly missed, may she rest in peace.
She is survived by her spouse of 63 years, Harold Hilliard; her daughter Pam Ziegenfuss (Joel), her son Jeff Hilliard (Laurie), and her son Kim Hilliard (Sharla); seven grandchildren, two adoptive grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her precious dog Chume.
