Obituary of Bonnie Gean Locklear

Locklear, Bonnie, 86, Boise, died at a local care center on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home and Cremation, Meridian. 

Bonnie Jean Locklear passed away on January 25, 2022.  Bonnie was born on November 14, 1935 in Harrison, Arkansas to Floyd Allen and Erma Helen (Price) Hihath.  The family moved to Idaho in 1945.  Bonnie attended schools in Arkansas, Nampa and Meridian, graduating from Meridian High School. 

Bonnie married Roy N. Locklear on September 20, 1965.  They were married for 56 years.  Roy was in the military and they were stationed in California and then in Oklahoma.  She worked for Montgomery Ward in Oklahoma and also worked in California.  Bonnie retired in 2001 from the State of Idaho after 34 years of service.  Her hobbies were reading, collecting recipes, cooking, gardening, flowers and canning and freezing food.  She enjoyed traveling, fishing trips, men’s and women’s BSU basketball games.  Bonnie was a compassionate person and knew how to help those in need.   Bonnie took home bible study courses through Jerry Falwell, Oklahoma Christian College and Biblical Bible courses.  Bonnie enjoyed teaching and taught junior high girls, young people and adult classes for a number of years.  Roy and Bonnie pastored a church in Star and were active in churches all their married life.  Bonnie will be missed by her family and friends. 

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Roy; sisters: Wilma, Faye, Carole and Judy and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brothers: Joe, Jim and Jerry.
