Obituary of Karl Languirand

Languirand, Karl, 48, of Meridian, died, Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his home. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home and Cremation.

Karl Edward Languirand, 48, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2022, after an extended battle with lupus.

Karl was born on July 26, 1973 and was adopted at the age of six months, by Paul and Ann Languirand in Mountain Home, Idaho. After Karl graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1991, he went on to study Geology at Boise State University.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, he started his career at Materials Testing & Inspection as a geologist, kickstarting a twenty-five-year career in the environmental field. Starting right out of college, Karl jumped right in learning everything MTI did and became a Registered Geologist in the states of Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. He loved to learn and mastered many disciplines, including asbestos, lead-based paint, indoor air quality, radon, and environmental site assessments prior to becoming the manager of the MTI Environmental Department in the beginning of 2013.

In 2009, Karl met Nicole Martin online and they had their first date on September 5th, at Bardenay Restaurant.  On Christmas Eve, 2010, Karl proposed to Nicole at Gardens Aglow at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. They were married on November 12, 2011, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church. Their love was a love of a lifetime cut too short. They were best friends, partners and the halves that completed each other. They truly believed that God brought them together. They shared love, laughter and were each other’s strength and rock through all of life’s ups and downs. They shared in their love of their beautiful beagle fur babies, Sally, Lucy, and Rosy.

Karl enjoyed rock hounding, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, painting, wood working, and calligraphy.  His love for learning kept him reading, and he and Nicole loved to watch cooking shows to explore new cuisines together.

Karl was predeceased in death by, his parents, Paul and Ann Languirand; uncle, Mark Boesl; aunt, Martha Languirand; and most recently, Karl and Nicole’s unborn child.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole; sister, Kaysie Donat (Angie); uncle, Leo Languirand; aunts: Chris Boesl and Joan Worden; cousins: Ellen Panter (Greg), Glenn Languirand (Julie), Karen Languirand, Jay Languirand, Stacey Schilz (Heath), and Judy Austin (David); and multiple second cousins: Kylar (Denise) and Gabe; Carol Stafford and family; and Richard (Rita) Stafford and family.
