Obituary of Michael David Cole

     Michael D. (Coach, Mike, Magnum) Cole, 72 of Meridian, ID passed away June 30, 2022.

     Mike was born August 27, 1949, in Brooklyn, Michigan to Max and Fran Cole.

     Mike graduated High School in Tennessee. He married Patricia J. McCord in October 1970. Together they had two children, Jennifer M., and Joshua M. Cole. Years later Mike and Pat’s relationship dissolved.

     Mike met and married Nora Folger in August 1998. They lived in Meridian with her two children, Matt, and Astra.

     Mike learned the jewelry business from his father. He operated Michaels Jewelers in Boise from 1976 to 1983. After closing the store, he worked as a Realtor for several years before deciding to join B&B Electric in Boise. He decided to semi-retire from B&B Electric 35 years later. He continued to work on his own doing service calls for his favorite clients.

     Mike loved the outdoors. Every spare moment he could be found coaching youth sports, golfing, hunting, fishing, or riding the trails on his horse, and years later his 4-wheeler. Mike always looked forward to his week of fishing with his ex father-in-law, Don McCord and ex brother-in-law, Mike McCord. Many tales came home with him and a few fish. His favorite above all was to sit with friends and family, watch his grandkids play, visit with his kids and more than anything, tell stories of his very full life. There were very few subjects that he hadn’t had some experience with, and he could spin a yarn as well as anyone.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Fran Cole and his youngest brother, Jeff. He is survived by his wife Nora, his brother Marc and sister, Lori; two children, Jennifer, and Joshua; two stepchildren, Matt, and Astra; five grandchildren, Will, Boston, Brooklyn, Mitch and Penny, and several nieces and nephews.

     Mike will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

     An informal remembrance of Mike will be held Saturday July 9, 2022, at 1579 N. Manship Pl., Meridian 83642 from 1-4 pm. All who knew him are invited to stop by and visit with family and friends."
