Obituary of Evelyn Hinsen

Evelyn Hinsen, 90, of Meridian, passed away on July 22, 2022 peacefully with her sister by her side.  The day before her 91^st birthday.

She was born to Willie and Sarah (Simpson) Belcher on July 23, 1931 in Wallins, Kentucky.  Evelyn is the third of five children. 

Evelyn grew up and went to school in Kentucky, Ohio and got her diploma through the mail in 1949. After receiving her diploma Evelyn moved to California and started working for Bank of America.

One of Evelyn’s friends introduced her to Norman Hinsen at church in the fall of 1962 and on April 7, 1963, Evelyn became Mrs. Hinsen.  Soon after, she gave birth to two wonderful children that she absolutely adored, Greg and Gayla.

With 30 years of service with Bank of America, Evelyn earned her retirement stripes. This gave her more time to be involved in her church.

After many years in California, Norm’s job transferred them to Ohio.  In 1998 Evelyn’s beloved Norm passed away.  A year later, Evelyn moved to Idaho to be closer to family.

Evelyn is predeceased by her loving husband, Norm; parents, Willie and Sarah Belcher; daughter, Gayla; son, Greg; sister, Louise Ball; brother, Will (Toni) Belcher; grandchildren: Michael (Emily) Hinsen and Heidi (Steven) Schulze; great-granchildren: Oliver, Maddie, Seth, Brookelyn, Elizabeth, Addison, Nolan, Morgan; many nieces and nephews.
