Obituary of Gerald Dale Anderson

Gerald Dale Anderson, “Jerry”, 86, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away, December 5, 2022, peacefully at home, with his wife by his side.

Jerry was born to Roy and Myrtle Anderson, December 17, 1935, in Eleva, Wisconsin.

Jerry graduated from Eleva-Strum High school in 1953. He attended the University of Wisconsin for one year, then attended the University of Montana and graduated with honors in forestry. He worked for the BLM, until he was drafted into the Army for 2 years. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he went back to work for the BLM. He then moved to Boise in 1960 and this is where he was introduced to his sweetheart.

He married Marilyn Falkner on February 4, 1961. In the fall, they moved to Seattle, where he attended the University of Washington. In May 1966, he graduated with a DDS degree.

After graduation, they moved to Meridian, Idaho where he practiced dentistry. Together Jerry and Marilyn blessed their marriage with four wonderful children: Mark, Dena, Gail and Eric.    Jerry retired in December 1999.

He had the best sense of humor and could easily make the grandkids laugh and always made Grandma giggle. He never failed to give his support and advice to any who needed it.

Jerry loved spending his time woodworking and carving birds. He loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and making dill pickles, a favorite of all the family.

He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Boise, Idaho.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Keith, Dewey, and Don; as well as his infant son, Eric Anderson, who passed in infancy.

He is survived by wife, Marilyn; and his three children: Mark (Kathi) Anderson, Dena (Von) Lloyd, Gail Potridge; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and sister, LaVonne Nelson.

A celebration of his life will be held in early summer, 2023.

“Grandpa was a golden example of how those around him should live their lives and treat other people.”
