Obituary of Thomas Marc Meninga

     In loving memory of our beloved son, nephew, brother, uncle and friend, Thomas Marc Meninga.

     Tom was born September 21, 1972 to parents, Theodore and Faythe Meninga.

     Tom enjoyed many hobbies during his life especially music, photography, nature and literature. He played acoustic, electric, and bass guitars and was proficient at the tin whistle. Many a summer night his tin whistle could be heard outside as others listened. He liked taking and sharing pictures of nature with family and friends. Tom also enjoyed literature with a focus on popular culture, philosophy, and religion.

     Tom volunteered in many areas throughout his life. His favorite was working at the Wildlife Rescue Center in Modesto, CA, where he made friends with Curley the Owl. After moving to Boise, he helped work in the kitchen at the Nazareth Retreat Center. He also became an ESL  tutor working with foreign students in order to teach them English.

     The last several years, Tom was employed at SAS shoe store in Meridian, Idaho, where he took great effort to help his customers find the perfect pair of shoes. He was known as a faithful and caring employee.

     At a young age, Tom was baptized into Christian faith. Although he struggled on this earth, Tom always tried to be the best person he could be to those around him. We find comfort knowing he is no longer suffering and is in a better place.

    Tom is survived by his parents: Ted and Faythe; brother, Joel (Natalie); niece, Violet; and nephews, Hank and Jack; as well as Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim, Uncle Wayne and Aunt Miriam and other aunts, uncles and cousins.
