I’m so sorry you have lost Bill. Reading his obituary brought up so many childhood memories with all the stories of you and Bill. Sam was moved by the obituary, also, remembering how welcome he was at your house. We also recalled the early camping trips, the dinners at our backyard picnic tables, playing dress up, and so much more. I loved your house, quite elegant compared to ours. I remember Bill working at the “new” drive in on State St, you playing the piano and our lessons with Mrs. Martineau, our playing in the park. The Irene Street neighborhood was a safe place to grow up and to hold us in a community as our parents were divorcing. I was so sad when you moved away and we all drifted away from each other. Occasionally I saw Bill at Boise High but never really knew what happened to him or you after that. I always intended to write to you after our chance meet up at the BoiseFarmers Market, but, I guess, life just interfered. My email address is julknapp@mac.com, so if you’d like, I could send you a couple of the pictures my mom took of us as children. Again, please know how fond we all were of Bill and also you.

So sorry to hear of my friends Bills passing. We shared many great times throughout our growing up in sports through our friendship. He was very instrumental in my getting hired by Intermountain Gas Company and I still owe him a great debt for that. My best to all of you his family. Steve Rector

I have many fond memories of Bill. Memories at many family functions, out on golf courses and, of course, while in the car club. He had a great sense of humor and could take some teasing better than most. One of my favorite memories was while he, Christine and I were golfing at Eagle Hills Golf Course. We were on a par three hole on the back nine where you had to tee off over a pond hopeful the golf ball would land on the green. Bill teed off first but it wasn't a good shot and his ball landed in front of the pond. Christine and I both teed off and then it was Bill's turn again. I remember him just a grumbling as he took his second shot only to watch the head of his club come off the shaft and plop into the pond going further than his ball. The look on his face was priceless as all we could do was laugh. Bill was such a great guy and will truly be missed.

My Grandpa was one of the loves of my life. He and I shared a bond that I am so grateful of to this day. He was an amazing individual and accepted those around him no matter the circumstance. He championed me in my successes and failures. I am forever grateful for the life long relationship we built. I love you Grandpa.
