Obituary of James Frank Sherack

     James Frank “Jim” Sherack, 79, passed away on December 22, 2022 at Paramount Park Assisted Living.

     Jim was born in Crookston, Minnesota to Frank and Marie (Kruse) Sherack. The family resided in Crookston, Angus, and Warren, Minnesota. In 1958 after Frank passed away, the family moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota where Jim and his sister, Margaret helped raise his younger  siblings. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961.

     On August 8, 1964, he was united in marriage to Jane Amberg at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Mahnomen, Minnesota. Jim’s career was in banking in Minnestoa (Karlstad, Morris, Hallock, New Prague, Waconia) and Wisconsin (New Richmond).

     Jim loved bowling, golf, bridge, fishing, hunting, Sudoku and was a loyal fan of the Twins and Vikings. Other favorites were coffee, popcorn and Hershey Kisses. One of his greatest gifts in life was playing Woody Puzzles with his two grandchildren and just being able to know them. He served on church finance boards, community organizations, banking associations and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

     Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane of Boise, ID; their four children: Kelly (Dave) of Chicago, Michael, and grandchildren: Ryder and Autumn of Boise, Mindy (fiancée, Louis) of Chicago, Jesse (Randon) of Denver; siblings: Margaret (Gene) Ueland, John Sherack, Mary (Wally) Sjaaheim, Rose (Rich) Neitz and Susan Sherack; brothers-in-law, Steve (Eileen) Amberg and Mark (Sandy) Amberg; numerous nieces and nephews.

     He is preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, George and Ellen Amberg; brother-in-law, Paul Amberg; uncles, aunts, and cousins.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to your local food bank, children's food program or the Alzheimer's Association.

      A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 17, at 11:00 A.M. (mountain time) at Holy Apostles Catholic Church in Meridian, ID. The mass will be streamed on the Holy Apostles Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/holyapostles.church/ (mass will be available in the future as well).
