Obituary of Stephen R. Budzianowski

     Rand Budzianowski passed away April 25, 2023, in Boise, Idaho.

     Rand was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Dorothy and Stephen Budzianowski. He grew up there as the son of Navy parents, with his brothers Roger and David.

     After high school and his first year in college, he entered the Army and served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970.

     After his service ended, he attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He eventually moved to Boise and graduated from Boise State College with a degree in elementary education.

    Rand’s career as an elementary teacher in Boise was his pride and joy. He was a popular and fully dedicated educator. He loved his students and gave everything to his profession, which included coaching boys and girls basketball and track for many years. He received several awards for his teaching skills, and was the influence behind many innovative programs such as the Saturday Morning Gym program and the Environmental Field Trip Program.

     Rand was a loving husband and proud father and delighted in his children and grandchildren. He had a dynamic fun-loving personality and always made everyone feel confident and happy. He was much loved by all his extended family as well.

     Rand is survived by his wife, MaryAnn; son, Tyler and his wife Jessica and their son, Ben; daughter Amy and her husband Brett Harker, and their children Kason and Kylin.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and his father in law Edward Rinker.

     The family would like to thank Saint Alphonsus Hospital, especially the many caring nurses and doctors who were involved in his care.

     In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Boise Public Schools Foundation to honor his memory.

     A Graveside service will be held, 11:00 am Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Cloverdale Memorial Park. Remembrances to the family may be left at www.AccentFuneral.com
