Obituary of Marion Seibel

Our dear mother, Marion Seibel, sadly passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 84.  Mother was born in Coleman, Texas but moved endless times throughout West Texas.  Her high school years were spent in La Junta, Colorado, where she graduated.  Mom pursued a career as an airline stewardess and was stationed in New York City.  A vast difference from the small towns in Texas.  This career took her to all but 3 states in the U.S.   Later she followed her favorite Aunt Jimmie Kate and Uncle Carroll to Idaho where she enjoyed hanging out with her five cousins.  Idaho was a great fit for mom because it wasn’t too small nor too big and she loved the greenery and the outdoors.  This is where she met her husband, Jim Seibel; husband of 53 years, and where they raised their daughters.  She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.  Together they built their dream home in Nampa where they resided for 45 years.

Later in life, mom returned to college and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting.  She then went on to work for the I.R.S and later to her dream job at the U.S. Attorney’s office in Boise, Idaho.

Mom was very athletic, tennis in the 70’s, skiing in the 80’s and golf in the 90’s and beyond.  She had a natural curiosity about all things which led her to take a small engine repair class and proceed to maintain all the lawn equipment.  She was an avid reader, a friend to all and loved to listen to their stories. She was active in church, supportive of our military by knitting helmet liners for our soldiers in Iraq and if you ever drove by their home and saw how beautifully landscaped it was you knew it was from her endless hours of weed pulling.

She was survived by three daughters, numerous Texas relatives, as well as Idaho family, friends, neighbors, and her golf buddies.

Graveside services will be held at Canyon Hill Cemetery, on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023, at 11:00 am if you care to join us to say good-bye.  She had a long and full life, was very loved, and will be missed terribly.
