Obituary of Lloyd Alan Kangas

     Lloyd Alan Kangas passed away on November 7, 2023, at his home in Boise, Idaho. Lloyd was born after his sister, Janice Kangas, on May 25, 1950, to John and Betty Kangas.

     Lloyd graduated high school from Borah High in 1968, then later attended Boise State University where he studied accounting. 

     Lloyd married his first wife, Colleen Peterson, and had their only child, Tracy Petroviak. He then later married Gail L. Kangas, with whom he spent the majority of his life until 2008. Lloyd and Gail Co-owned ACT “Automotive Collision Tech” where Lloyd got to fulfill his joy of working on anything that had a motor. 

     Lloyd had a range of cars he collected and projects he gained through automotive repair. He was well known for his wild paint jobs and artistic capability behind his paint gun. Lloyd enjoyed going to as many car shows as he could attend and was a part of many car clubs to share his pride and enjoyment in his work restoring cars. 

     Lloyd took on his wife Gail’s trait of having a love for cats. There wasn't a cat around he wouldn't give a home to.

     Lloyd is survived by his daughter Tracy Petroviak; stepson Brent Barke; two grandchildren: Dawson McMahan and Nydia Barker; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lloyd will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Gail Kangas at Dry Creek Cemetery, Boise, Idaho.
