Obituary of Carol Mae Morford

Carol was born December 5, 1939, in Boise, Idaho, to Paul and Mae Burbidge. Her brother, Eugene, was born 12 years prior. The family lived in Boise for all of Carols’ life. Paul was an engineer for the State of Idaho. He also owned and operated "Les Bois" printing press located at their residence where he produced forest service maps for the State of Idaho. Mae worked at several miscellaneous jobs throughout her life. 

Carol graduated from Boise High School in 1958. Carol welcomed her son, Jay, in September of 1959. Carol met Mel through mutual friends and they were married June 1, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Meridian. A year later Carol and Mel welcomed their daughter, Carmel, into their family.

Carol and Mel spent much of their leisure time camping in Idaho. Many weekends were spent at Warm Lake teaching Carol how to be an outside person (good luck). They would spend every weekend camping, riding motorcycles, ATVs and snowmobiles. They also enjoyed bowling, square dancing and traveling together.

Carol loved to get to know people, everyone she met she considered her friend. Her main passion in life was raising her children and spending time with Mel, their family and friends.

Throughout her life, Carol had various jobs including: school lunch program and various banking positions before ending her career with the Idaho State Health and Welfare department.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Burbidge. She is survived by her husband’ Mel Morford; children, Jay Morford, and Carmel (Guy) Bittikofer. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who care deeply for her.

She will be missed by many including friends in Yuma, AZ where Mel and Carol have spent many winters over the past 18 years.

A graveside gathering will be conducted on Monday, February 12, at Meridian Cemetery 895 E Franklin Rd at 1:00 PM. Celebration of life will be held at Idaho Pizza, 78 E Eagle River St in Eagle immediately following.  Remembrances may be left for Carols’ family on her webpage at www.AccentFuneral.com
