Obituary of Darrell Webb

Darrell Lynn Webb was born in Clovis, New Mexico on November 14, 1944 to Olan B. and Fern Webb.  He spent most of his youth living in Monument, Colorado.  He graduated from Lewis Palmer High School in 1963.  After high school Darrell worked with his dad on several job sites in Colorado Springs until he joined the Plumbers/Fitters Union in 1968.

On August 12, 1966 he married Mary Rodgers who lived in Castle Rock, Colorado.  They were blessed with two beautiful children. Their daughter, Tamara, was born in January of 1969 and in October of 1970 they welcomed their son, Scott, into the family.

In 1974 Darrell and his family traveled around to different job sites in Western Colorado.  They met many great friends and still have close contact with them in both Eastern and Western Colorado.  During this time of their lives they had a lot of adventures while living in Craig, Meeker and Cortez, Colorado.  They loved camping, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, etc.  Darrell and his family spent many hours up in the mountains around Cortez and Dolores gathering firewood with friends and family to heat their homes. They were always busy doing things together when Darrell had time off or the kids weren’t in school.

Once Tamara moved to San Diego to be with her husband and Scott was going to college in Iowa, Mary decided to travel with Darrell to different parts of the Northwest. They would be on a job site for a year and then TIC would move them around to another site. They lived in Utah, Nevada, California and had a lot of memories in the places they visited while traveling. They eventually settled in Boise, Idaho.  This is where their home has been since 1995.  Darrell worked at Micron for a number of years before retiring.

Darrell and Mary have 6 granddaughters.  Tamara has two girls, Bailea and then Avery, who came to live with them when she was just 17 months. Scott and Michelle have 4 girls: Madelene, Abigail, Emma and Trinity.  Darrell is known to his grandkids and their friends as “Papa”.

He leaves behind the love of his life, Mary Webb, whom he was married to for 58-1/2 years along with his daughter, Tamara, and son, Scott. He also is survived by his brothers, Jeff (Linda) and Doug (Creta); sisters-in-law, Pat Breitkreutz (Frank Meis), Nancy Rodgers, Linda (Steve) and Joan (Mike). Darrell is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Debbie Breitkreutz, Daniel Densmore (Kate), Kevin Webb, Aaron Webb (Amanda), Jason Webb (Dale), Nathan Webb (Julie) and Gayle Ortiz (Eddie).

Darrell passed away on February 9, 2024 in Boise, Idaho at the age of 79.  He is preceded in death by his father Olan, mother Fern and older brother Larry.

Darrell loved life and jokes.  He was always smiling, kind and willing to help out wherever. He became very interested in canning and preserving the last year of his life, since he wasn’t able to do a lot of outside physical activities.

Darrell’s service will be at Heritage Bible Church, 7071 W. Emerald St., Boise, ID 83704 on April 6, 2024 at 11 am with a BBQ in the lower level of the church right after his “celebration of life”.
