Obituary of Ann Marie Pardew-Peck
Ann M. Pardew-Peck, 63, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at her home following an exhausting battle with an extremely rare cancer. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 13th at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2206 N. Cole Rd., Boise, Idaho 83704. The reception will take place at the Pardew-Peck residence, 2425 E Floating Feather Rd, Eagle, Idaho. Social responsibilities will be in place and more information will be forthcoming as guidance is provided to us. Please check back or contact the family.
Ann was born June 18, 1956 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Helen and Bill Pardew. They lived in Shoshone, Idaho until moving to Eagle in 1962. Ann’s early life in Eagle was one of living in the country on a horse ranch, with her parents and twin brothers, John and Steve. The family ranch was self-sufficient in all aspects of raising, riding and caring for the horses. At the height of its activity, the ranch provided for 48 horses with refined breeding in Appaloosa, Quarter Horse, Paints, and Thoroughbreds. She learned the true meaning of a tight knit loving family, through her parent’s encouragement, love, laughter, and inspiration to follow your heart and passion. Ann being the oldest child, learned serious responsibility at a young age, accompanied with hard work, a goal of perfection in all tasks, and the success of those efforts through sacrifice for the benefit of others. Growing up in the country gave her a life-long foundation and dream of how her own family would someday benefit as she did.
After high school graduation in 1974, Ann chose to follow in her mother’s footsteps and focused on becoming a physical education and health teacher as well as a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Ann enrolled at Cottey Junior College in Nevada, Missouri where she received an Associate’s in Arts with an Emphasis in Physical Education. In 1976, she continued her education at the University of Idaho graduating in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with Minors in Health and Recreation. Ann then attended Idaho State University in 1987, where she graduated with a Master’s in Health Education.
For over 40 years, Ann was a member of the P.E.O Sisterhood. In 2005, Ann and fellow sisters chartered P.E.O. Chapter CJ in Eagle, Idaho. She was heavily involved with developing fundraisers and events to support and celebrate women pursuing advancement through education. Ann truly cherished P.E.O. and the Sisterhood.
During her 34 years of teaching, Ann worked at Taft Elementary, Lake Hazel Primary, Star Elementary, Eagle Elementary, Ustick Elementary, and retired in 2013, after 23 years at Joplin Elementary. Ann was the consummate educator. She was driven to enhance her students’ lives through health and movement programs. She touched an extraordinary number of young people with her programs such as bowling, swimming, roller blading, field days, and anything else that taught a healthy lifestyle. Ann was known to combine classroom activities with health and PE activities to help improve math, reading, and science scores. She was continually searching for frontline innovations to advance her students.
While working at Eagle Elementary, Ann met Bryant Peck, who became her lifelong dance partner on June 9, 1990. They had two daughters, Keri and Kaedy. In 2001, Ann and Bryant moved their family into a new home on the Eagle property. They purchased a large home that had been staged for relocation. It was moved from North Meridian Road to the acreage adjacent to Ann’s family home. Bryant and Ann took on this massive undertaking that yielded a treasure trove of memories and challenges throughout the planning and building of their dream home and family. This involved the transformation of a hay pasture into a beautiful home, with property adequate for horse and cattle corrals, a barn for sheep, chickens, ducks, and an ever-growing number of Sheltie dogs. Ann’s vision of living in the country, with a devoted hard-working husband, and two loving, talented daughters was her ultimate dream come true.
Their family life was greatly disrupted by the passing of Bryant’s father, Arlos, and then four years later the passing of Ann’s father, William. Five years following William’s death, Ann’s Mom, Helen, experienced a traumatic, disabling stroke in December of 2009. Ann and Bryant without hesitation moved Helen into their home and began providing her with 24/7 care. Ann’s life long experience of a family's love, sacrifice, care and devotion to your family was given to her Mom, her husband, her daughters, and a multitude of friends to the very last day of her fight against the cancer that took her life.
Ann is survived by her husband, Bryant, their daughters Keri and Kaedy, her mother, Helen and brother Steve Pardew. Ann was preceded in death by her brother, John and father, William.
